Zone Read: Eagles-Panthers, the Day After

The offense:

I’ll have to double-check, but it seemed like most of Zach Ertz’s snaps came in the fourth quarter. Celek continues to play more than him because of his value as a run blocker.

Kelly did not pull the starters until there was 5:30 left in the game. That’s when Matt Barkley and the other backups went in.

The defense:

At safety, Earl Wolff was a healthy scratch. That does not bode well for his future here. Chris Prosinski, who was signed off the street last week, dressed over Wolff.

Acho and Matthews almost had an even split. The Eagles played plenty of dime with Nolan Carroll. I don’t believe Marcus Smith got on the field until the fourth quarter.

After the game, Kelly said the value of being able to rotate bodies up front really helped the pass-rush.

GUESSING THE LINE: PACKERS (-4)

The Eagles lead the NFC with a +81 point differential. The Packers are second at +72.

Green Bay is at home and has Aaron Rodgers. For those reasons, I think the Packers will be about a 4-point favorite.

Early forecast: High of 24, low of 13 and a 40 percent chance of snow. Should be a fun week and a fun game.
